The Broken Puppet by Amo Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What the what?!?!
Have mercy- this series! I’m not sleeping. Barely eating. I NEED to know what happens next. Thank everything that is holy that these first three books are all out. I literally could not if I had to wait for answers.
This book raced along as it parceled out answers, slowly and in pieces. I suspected in the first book that there may be a paranormal element to this series, and although I still have that suspicion I suppose it could all be explained away by the power a legend can hold even if it isn’t true. The actions it can cause people to take. The way it can cause people to act. The fears it can create.
At the end of the first book I was flabbergasted that Madison was allowing Bishop within 100 feet of her for the bulk of the story, well after my forgiveness meter for him was empty. He earned back some street credit in this second book, I’ll give him that.
This series. Good lord. What is happening? So many secrets! So many lies! It seems literally everyone knows more about Madison than she knows about herself. Literally everyone is telling her not to trust anyone else. Insinuating, and even outright claiming, that she is being lied to. I NEED ANSWERS, AMO JONES! GAH!
Recommended! So much!
Off I go, sprinting over to book 3 and praying for resolution.

The Silver Swan
– 1. A girl who is tarnished. Tainted. One who does not fit into the confinement of legend.
The Silver Swan
-2. Madison Montgomery.
I was lied to.
I was cheated.
Resigned to pick up the scraps of empty memories and disarrayed thoughts, I left. After finally cutting the strings of manipulation, I resorted to do what I’ve done since I was a child, something my father drilled into my brain since I could handle my first rifle.
Run.
I’m a mere shadow of the girl they all knew.
Lies and deceit change you. They alter your entire outlook on life.
I’m Madison Montgomery, and I want to play a game.
Here’s what happens when I win.
Riddle me this, Mads.
What goes bump in the night,
but is something you can’t see with sight?
You may run, and you may hide.
If by happily ever after, you mean Bonnie & Clyde.
