The King by Skye Warren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The angst! The suspense! The darkness! The age gap! Ooh la la!
This book turned out to be different than I anticipated, but in a good way. The lead up and back story provided really lent a richness to the book that made all of the difference. I really felt for Penny and Damon. Both of them are without a mother, and with fathers that are hardly fathers at all aside from biology. I just want them to be with each other! I am going to need them to get it together.
I won’t get too much into anything else, but suffice to say I am thus far loving this duet, and am heading straight off to dive into book two!
Recommended!
Trigger warning: contains a reference to non-consent of a person under 18 (not real-time, and not graphic).
