Even better than the first one
What a whirlwind! I liked this book even better than the first book, although I thought the first one kept a better pace. This one seemed to lull a bit during the first half, but was off to the races after that.
I liked the deeper dive into Kayne’s character, into his point of view. It gave the character more depth. I also enjoyed the conflicted feelings that Ellie was experiencing; the insecurity, the anger. They seemed to be logical reactions to the situation she had been placed in, and I appreciated that it wasn’t expected that she just “be fine” with everything right off the bat.
I enjoyed seeing the supporting characters again, and I really like the friendship Ellie has with Jett- it’s special. He was there for her when she had no one, and it forged a strong bond.
The steamy parts were a little more, um, colorful than my particular tastes run, but they were still steamy, no doubt. It wouldn’t be my cup of tea in real life, but makes for a good read.
Overall, if you read and liked the first book then you should certainly do the same with this one.

With one touch he marked me.
With one kiss he owned me.
With one whisper he claimed me.
“No matter where you go or who you’re with, you’ll always be mine.”
Ellie Stevens thought she had moved on from the domineering man who abducted her. Now living in Hawaii and following her dreams, no one is going to keep her down. But things aren’t always as they seem.
Kayne Rivers reluctantly let Ellie go, but just because she’s gone now, doesn’t mean she’ll be gone forever. She is his, and he won’t stop until he’s reclaimed her as his own.
