It’s Our Secret (She Asked for It #1)

It's Our Secret

It’s Our Secret by Willow Winters

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As has happened before with this author I found that this book wasn’t quite what I thought it would be based on the blurb. She flipped the script. In a good way.
I like surprises. There aren’t enough of them in the dark romance/romantic suspense genre, so when I find an author who gives me a surprise I am thankful.
The blurb leads one to believe that the story is about the male main character being on trial for hurting the female main character. But, as it says at the end of said blurb, that is not the case. None of that is correct, actually. And I loved that.
This wasn’t my favorite book by this author- not even close. But that doesnt mean it wasn’t good- it just means I am a Willow Winters junkie who prefers her Merciless series and Valetti Crime series.
The love between Dean and Allison seemed to develop a little quick to me, but who knows… when two broken souls come together maybe there is some kind of recognition there that speeds up the pace.

From bestselling author Willow Winters comes an emotionally gripping, standalone, romantic suspense. Now a USA Today bestseller!

It was only a little lie.
That’s how stories like these get started.
But every lie I told, he saw through it.
I think in his heart he knew I was broken; he felt my pain as if it was his.

And that’s what changed everything.
He’s the reason it all fell apart.

Sometimes it’s a single moment that alters everything in existence.
Sometimes it’s the fall of dominoes, lined up in a pretty little row and designed so that each one will cause more and more pain.
In a single day, it’s all changed, and there’s no way to take it back.
I didn’t know what would happen. But secrets and lies ruin everything.

“I was captivated from the very beginning, and I couldn’t let go until the very end. Winters wove an outstanding tale, which has an even better message within its pages.” – Kendra @ Reads and Treats

Compulsive reader. Romantic suspense/contemporary romance/dark romance/NA romance addict. Particularly fond of mafia, forced/arranged marriage, secret baby, kidnapping, and dark alpha heroes. Just out here doing my part for humanity- these books won't read themselves.
