Until You by Penelope Douglas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Swoon
I, like some other readers, was on the fence about purchasing/reading Until You. I suspected it would be simply a retelling of the same scenes from Bully, but in Jared’s POV. Rest assured- it isn’t.
In the prologue the author writes something to the effect of this book not being a retelling of Bully, but instead being Jared’s story. We find out more about his past. We experience some of what he went through when Tate was in Europe. We see his special relationship with Tate’s father. We find out more about why he was so angry at the lake that day. We get insight into the relationship between him and KC. It also includes scenes with Tate that weren’t in Bully.
All in all, I am glad I read Until You. Some series have a book that is marketed as another character’s POV during an already-published book that are entirely skippable, but this is not one of those. If you are a fan of the series, you should read this book.

Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or numb to all emotions? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between. Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don’t care about anything or anyone.
Except Tatum.
I love her so much that I hate her. I hate that I can’t let her go. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn’t trust her—or anyone else. So I hurt her. I pushed her away. But I still need her. She centers me. Engaging her, challenging her, pushing her—it’s the one last part of me that feels anything anymore.
But then she went and screwed everything up. She left for a year and came back a different girl. Now, when I push, she pushes back…and I’m not sure either one of us will ever be the same.
Includes a teaser for RIVAL, the next unforgettable novel from Penelope Douglas….
