Twisted Loyalties by Cora Reilly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fire!
Oh, but I love this author and this series! I devoured the Bound By series, and waited until Twisted Pride came out to start the Camorra Chronicles. Yeah, I get it… there will be more Camorra Chronicles so I’m breaking my rule of not starting an unfinished series, yada yada. But I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF. I needed more of this world… needed more of these characters. And Cora Reilly does NOT disappoint.
Fabiano, a child when we saw him in the Bound By series, is now grown up and fulfilling a role in Vegas. And boy, did he grow up. He meets Leona, and it is instant fire. Even so, they wait to actually sleep together. I do love a slow burn. Each time they give in to their attraction it is burning hot (fanning myself).
Anyway, I love this series (looping in the Bound By series) because the author creates real suspense and action along with the romance. And the romance itself is gritty and messy- not at all clean and perfect. Which is, ironically, perfect. Clean and perfect romances are boring. If there isn’t a threat of death are you even really turned on all the way? Who knows!
I loved the progression of the relationship. I loved the dual POV. I loved the backgrounds of these characters, and how they looked so different on the surface, but at closer look were quite similar in the ways that counted. I loved the danger, the suspense, the question of how things were going to end.
All in all, another delicious read from Cora Reilly!

Leona wants to build a decent life for herself, away from her drug-addicted mother. But soon she catches the attention of a dangerous man – Fabiano Scuderi. Staying out of trouble and living a normal life are near impossible with a man like him.
Leona knows she needs to avoid Fabiano, but men like him aren’t easy to shake off. They always get what they want.
Fabiano cares about only one thing: the Camorra.
But his attraction to Leona soon puts his unwavering loyalty to the test. Is Leona worth risking everything he’s fought for, and ultimately his life?
